Menu

Menu appropriates nostalgic imagery of restaurants, kitchens, and table settings. In this body of work, we explore perceptions and politics surrounding food by superimposing patterns of various geometric shapes onto images from antiquated cookbooks and culinary magazines. Each pattern's shape mirrors contours within the primary image. To give the prints a subtle depth, they have been perforated by hand to create a lace-like grid. Highly saturated colors allude to a romanticized era that has passed, but is undeterminable.
